One Direction and Alicia Keys will perform at the VMAs

The first per­formers at the 2012 VMAs have been announced as One Direction and Alicia Keys.

"Finally, I can reveal the VMA secrets (I love you too much to keep secrets from you!) I've been dying to share!" an over­enthu­si­astic MTV Buzzworthy cor­res­pond­ent began, "Secrets like… One Direction and Alicia Keys will perform at the 2012 MTV VMAs!"

Meanwhile, the VMA nom­in­a­tions have also been revealed today with Rihanna in the lead, nominated for 5 'gongs'.
