The Wanted have gone platinum in America

  • March 15, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

The Wanted have managed to notch up platinum sales 'across the pond'.

As you may have heard, 'Glad You Came' has steadily climbed the Billboard charts since being released at the end of January and has now sold in excess of 1m copies.

The band 'took to Twitter' to share the news with fans, writing: "We are SO OVERWHELMED right now… cannot tell you how amazing you guys make us feel. This is MENTAL #GladYouCamePlatinum."

'Glad You Came' is currently Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Wanted release their eponymous debut album in America next month, with next single 'Gold Forever' being released onto iTunes next week.
