Miike Snow reckon the charts are overrun by Calvin Harris wannabes

  • March 15, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

Miike Snow think the charts have been "taken over" by artists mimicking Calvin Harris's techno sound.

Speaking to the Daily Star singer Andrew Wyatt said of their new album: "We knew we didn’t want to sound like Calvin Harris. Calvin is cool, but his techno sound has been copied so much it’s taken over the chart."

Bandmate Pontus Winnberg said the band deliberately opted for a different sound on their new album 'Happy To You', adding: "That four-to-the-floor techno sound is so obvious now. We wanted to push dance music forward.”

'Happy To You' is out on Monday.
