Rihanna and Drake have received the most nominations for this year's MTV VMAs

  • July 31, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

Rihanna and Drake each have five nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, so congratulations to them both.

Katy Perry, meanwhile, has four, while Beyoncé, Coldplay and this Watch The Throne business have three 'nods' each.

One Direction and The Wanted will 'battle it out' for Best New Artist with their videos for 'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'Glad You Came', while One Direction will also compete in the Best Pop Video category.

Our favourite category is of course Best Video with a Message, which features the likes of Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper', Kelly Clarkson's 'Dark Side' and, er, Lil Wayne's 'How To Love'.

You can see the full list here, but you might need a spare hour or so.
