One Direction and Calvin Harris did quite well at the MTV VMAs

  • September 7, 2012
  • Darren Sharp

The MTV VMAs aired last night, with One Direction and Calvin Harris coming away the big winners.

The 'Na Na Na' hitmakers managed to take the honours for Best New Artist and Best Pop Video for 'What Makes You Beautiful'. Mr Harris received quite a bit of recognition as well, with 'Feel So Close' being awarded for Best Electronic Dance Video and little known hit  'We Found Love' taking Video Of The Year.

Other notable winners included Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' for Best Female Video (!) and Changed Man Chris Brown's 'Turn Up The Music' for Best Male Video.

In perhaps the most important moment of the night, Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper' was awarded Best Video With A Message. A significant accomplishment, we're sure you'll agree.

A full list of winners and nominees can be seen here if you're interested.
