Joe McElderry's going to appear in the 'rock opera' Tommy

  • October 18, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

'And I Think of You – E penso a te' hitmaker Joe McElderry is set to star in The Who's 'rock opera' Tommy on London's West End, it's been announced.

Little Joe will perform for one night only on November 12 at the Prince Edward Theatre on Old Compton Street. Tickets range from £15 — £65, but you can also get a VIP package for £125 that gets you some drinks, a signed programme and tickets to the after show party.

Here's what Joe had to say about it all: "I’m very excited to make my West End debut in the iconic Rock Opera ‘Tommy’, I have been waiting for a role that would challenge both my acting and singing skills, this has both."

"I am a big fan of The Who (!) and it is incredible that Pete Townshend wrote this piece when he was 21, the same age as me," he gushed.
