Jessie J and others have been given a spurious award by MTV

  • February 8, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

Jessie J and Adele are among eight acts to have received double platinum MTV Video Play Awards for reaching 20,000 plays across MTV stations worldwide.

Other 'artists' to receive the giant picture frame include Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, LMFAO, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Jennifer Lopez and David Guetta.

What a list.

MTV executive Bruce Gillmer claimed that "the MTV Video Play Awards are a perfect example of MTV's unrivalled scale, support and ability to connect artists to literally millions of fans in every corner of the world".

Nice of MTV to make sure it's all about the artists.
