Forbes has named Lady Gaga as the world's most powerful celebrity

  • May 19, 2011
  • Brad O'Mance

Forbes has published the 2011 edition of its Celebrity 100 list, which ranks Lady Gaga as the world's most powerful celebrity.

The list takes into account media visibility and earnings, using a variety of sources including Google, Lexis/Nexis, Nielsen, Facebook, and Publishers Weekly.

Gaga has moved up from 4th position last year, knocking Oprah Winfrey into second place. Justin Bieber is in third, followed by U2 and Elton John. So that's terrifying.

Also, it's been announced that Gaga has teamed up with Starbucks for a digital scavenger hunt across its Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare sites. (We have no idea what this actually means, but you can read more about it here.)
