British singles are doing quite well this week

  • August 8, 2011
  • Brad O'Mance

Look-at-me-don't‑look-at-me tease Cher Lloyd leads an all-British UK Top 5 in the singles chart for the first time since 2007, reports Music Week.

The last time the chart was made up only of British acts, Leona Lewis was Number One, Take That were at two and both  Sugababes and McFly were still having Top 5 singles.

'Swagger Jagger' sold around 66,000 copies to dethrone JLS, who are one place above The Wanted. Below them is acoustic guitar botherer Ed Sheeran, with DJ Fresh at five. Lloyd's Number One also makes her the youngest female act to debut at the top spot since Billie with 'Because We Want To' in 1998.

Lloyd seemed really happy with it all.
