"There's always been a Glitter beat element to my etc etc"

  • October 23, 2006
  • Popjustice

Step One: August 2006.

An  informal chat with Jamelia.

PJ: Can you tour 'Beware Of The Dog' with two drummers?

Jamelia: That's a good idea.

PJ: Anything else you want to discuss?

Jamelia: "Beware of The Dog' getting back to Number One on Popjustice.

PJ: Maybe there should be some remixes of 'Beware Of The Dog', preferably by Cicada and Tony Lamezma.

Jamelia: Okay, we'll do a trade-off. The moment you see me on stage with two drummers, you put me back to Number One. Deal?

Step Two: September 2006.

An informal chat with Jamelia's manager.

Jonathan Shalit (for it is he): We've told the video directors for 'Beware Of The Dog' that there need to be two drummers.

PJ: Amazing.

Step Three: October 2006

So you see viewers, when 'Beware Of The Dog' crashes into the charts at Number 18 then disappears the following week, you will have us to thank.

Here's the 'Beware Of The Dog' video in full.

As you can hear at the end, our main quibble with the song has also now been addressed — it ends with a bang, rather than a fade.

Thank God for that.
