Popworldcupjustice: Honduras vs Ecuador

HONDURAS V ECUADOR

Guest referee: Ronika — Popstar

Honduras32 Macris Talent Show 2013

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CqVD8DpZVs

“Poor Honduras have no Pop Idol show to call their own, so instead we turn to a school talent show and a sixth form covers band at the pinnacle of their powers, fresh from a quick jam in the music room during break-time. Forgetting to turn their amps up to 11, these boys rock out to at least a four while the crowd totally lose their shit. Luckily the pressures of touring and writing ‘the difficult second album’ haven’t yet taken their toll on the fresh-faced five-piece as they shred through a cover of the Foo Fighters like they wrote the book. These guys are clearly awesome. There is a sign behind the stage saying ‘Talent/Fashion Show’ and this is a performance where we truly see both worlds collide. Bizarrely, the cool Pink Floyd t‑shirts and flame-covered guitars do not impress the chicas, who leave in their droves smirking at the camera on their way out. They clearly don’t know talent/fashion when it’s staring them in the face.”

Ecuador32 José Antonio Mora — Compilation (Latin American Idol)

“Representing for Team Ecuador is the clean-cut Latin American Idol cutie José Antonio Mora. Imagine a lukewarm Ricky Martin that you could take home to meet your mum — more ‘sipping a cup of mocha’ than ‘living la vida loca’. His impassioned crooning is perfectly punctuated by hair gel and fist clenching, whilst his songs are performed with an earnestness that makes you believe every damn word he’s singing is for you. Thankfully he can also play the acoustic guitar, so sky really is the limit for Jose. But there is a clear winner here — although Jose gave 110% on the pitch, Honduras closed up in the dying moments."

Ronika's full time score:

Honduras 3 — Ecuador 1
