Muffin good about this goodbye

  • March 27, 2008
  • Popjustice

If you eat muffins you are responsible for killing pop music (or something) and that is 100% solid fact because it said so last week on the BBC news website.

The story behind all this is that every year, as a way of measuring spending, the Office of National Statistics create an imaginary shopping basket, which contains average items from an average person's life. It changes from year to year with some item being replaced by others and this year items like muffins and smoothies (don't even get us started on 'smoothies') are in, but CD singles are controversially OUT.

Obviously things move on and we're all just killing time before we
reach that inevitable day when music is downloaded straight into our
ears but it's still sad that CD singles are officially no longer part of everyday life.

Also, of course, you can't listen to a muffin. :(
