Hypnotizer hypno-hypnotizer you're a hypnotizer oh hypnotizer oh you're a hypnotizer baby

A gentleman called Tommy Sparks has got a single coming out in 2009. It is billed as 'disco punk' (FYI it is neither disco or punk) and it's called 'I'm A Rope'. This is all boring. What is interesting is that the video purports to feature 16 people being hypnotized into believing that Tommy Sparks is brilliant. And that, readers, is what they call an open goal.

We suspect the hypnotizer business is made up rubbish, although we shared this thought with A Man At The Record
Label and his reply was "I swear on my life it is true!! We totally
hypnotized everyone. I promise you!! It was totally insane!!! It is so
funny people keep coming in my office saying you are lying that never
happened. I promise you. It is real."

Either way, it's a great video.

Incidentally we like 'I'm A Rope' but we have a CD on our desk featuring various tracks by Tommy and they're better and poppier than 'I'm A Rope'. It's hardly Same Difference but it's all very second-coming-of-Ali-Love — we suppose for the purposes of introducing him to 'tastemakers' it has been decided to hold those back for the time being.
