How to go from indie side-project to pop genius with one simple song...

Released: TBA 2008

Label: Lex Records
Website: Here

'I Told Her On Alderaan' by By Neon Neon
Here is the moment when a musician's side project becomes more than a few people dicking around in a studio and becomes something both profitable and utterly amazing.

The last Neon Neon track we made a Song Of The Day was very good, but new track 'I Told Her On Alderann' is in a completely different league of 'very good'. 'Raquel' was a limited 7" sort of good while 'I Told Her On Alderaan' is Top Ten single type of good.

It has a lot of references to science fiction in it too, which is always good.

Some electro pop from a Welshman who was once in a different band...

Released: December 4

Label: Lex Records
Website: Here

'Raquel' (Radio edit) by By Neon Neon
Believe it or not, Neon Neon is the new project from the man who used to sing with Super Furry Animals and a man called Bryan who pretends to be called Boom Bip.

NO WAIT COME BACK ETC ETC.

'Raquel' is very much an electro pop record and is quite possibly one of the greatest songs ever to involve a Welshman.

Here is the proof.

Lenny Kravtiz sounds almost listenable for the first time in his career…">

What's not to like about Mutya Buena?

Well, that is not for us to say. What we can say is that 'Real Girl' - the lead single from Mutya's debut solo album - spunks such a huge wad of summer into the face of planet pop that if anything else comes close to topping this in the sunshine stakes before the clocks go back we will quite literally eat our hats.

In the video she looks through a scrapbook of memories and things like that, as we all do from time to time.

We wonder if Siobhan Donaghy is in the scrapbook. :(
