will.i.am was 'inspired' to write 'I Gotta Feeling' after working on a U2 remix

  • April 20, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

Label boss Jimmy Iovine has claimed that will.i.am 'borrowed' the chords for 'I Gotta Feeling' from U2.

While remixing 'I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight' for the Irish borelords, 'will' was apparently 'inspired' by what he heard.

"I sent Will.i.am over to the studio to do some remixes on I’ll Go Crazy," Iovine told The Sun. "He works on them for two weeks, comes back and writes I Gotta Feeling."

Coincidence? Apparently not. "The chords are U2 chords, 100 per cent. Will even told them," Iovine continued.
