Union J's new album will have a bit of a "country twist" apparently

  • March 17, 2014
  • Brad O'Mance

Union JUnion J reckon their forthcoming second album has a bit of a "country twist to it".

Having a chat with Capital FM, George had this to say about it all: "[It's] up tempo. It's kind of got a country twist to it. If you can imagine Taylor Swift meets Little Mix meets Union J."

Yes, imagine.

Jaymi added that the band have taken advantage of a bit of a break to reassess who they are as a band.

"I think we've had like a month or so off now to get back to who we really are without the whole of last year's campaign and who we were on X Factor," he mused.

Getting away from being seen as a bit of a second rate One Direction would be a good start, although their choice of perspective collaborators isn't really helping.

"We'd love to do a massive band thing and get Little Mix involved – it would be really cool," said JJ, with Josh adding: "I think Ed Sheeran should say 'Hey boys, how's it going? Fancy doing a song?'"
