Sophie Ellis-Bextor doesn't think she'll make "out-and-out dance music again"

  • July 11, 2014
  • Brad O'Mance

Sophie'Back 2 Paradise' hitmaker Sophie Ellis-Bextor's not sure she will ever go back to making dance music now.

Despite claiming back in January that she probably had a dance album inside her, she's now told Music Week that the freedom her new album 'Wanderlust' has given her, means she probably won't go back to the dancefloor, apols.

"There’s a misconception that someone was making me make dance music [when signed to Universal] but that’s not true," she mused.

"When I first made this record I thought I was just putting it on hold. It’s only now I’ve been allowed to really explore making this record that I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to making out-and-out dance music again."

:(

There is a slight glimmer of hope in that she says she might "bring a little bit of disco to the party" on her next album, but we'd keep the poppers on ice for the time being.
