Skrillex has done a big shit on that 'Sorry' lawsuit

  • May 28, 2016

skrillex-waveform

Yesterday we (and everyone) reported that White Hinterland had chucked a lawsuit at Skrillex, Justin Bieber and various others involved in 'Sorry' over the song's wobbly ghost noise which Hinto said had been sampled from her 2014 song ‘Ring The Bell’.

Skrillex has now responded with a video showing that while, yes, the 'Ring The Bell' introduction does sound a lot like 'Sorry' ghost, so does an ad-lib from Julia Michaels' original songwriting session, once you've faffed around with semitones and reverb 'etc'.

So there we have it. White Hinterland might not be getting a new house but at least everyone can now get on with their lives.
