One Direction's new album has sold 'quite well' in its first week on sale in America

  • December 4, 2013
  • Brad O'Mance

One Direction newOne Direction's third album 'Midnight Memories' has entered the US album chart at Number One after 'shifting' 546,000 copies in its first week on sale.

This being a Billboard chart, it means they have of course broken some sort of record or other; on this occasion they've become the first group to debut at Number One with their first three albums.

'Midnight Memories' sold about 6,000 more copies in its debut week than last year's 'Take Me Home', and significantly more than 2011's 'Up All Night', which opened with a comparatively shit 176,000.

You can read more about it all here.
