One Direction new

One Direction and Katy Perry were the big winners at the American Music Awards last night, so well done them and their respective fanbases.

The 'lads' walked off glumly with Artist Of The Year, Favourite Pop/Rock Album (for 'Midnight Memories') and Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group.

The 'This Is How We Do' hitmaker, meanwhile, collected 'gongs' for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist and Single Of The Year for 'Dark Horse'.

Beyoncé and Iggy Azalea both 'scooped' two bookends, so well done to them as well.

The full list of winners etc is right here.
