Katy Perry's said her new album isn't that dark at all actually

  • August 28, 2013
  • Brad O'Mance

Katy perryHaving previously said her new album would be "much darker", Katy Perry reckons she's actually "finally let the light in" on the forthcoming 'Prism', which sort of makes a mockery of those wig-burning, dress-burying 'teaser' things but anyway.

"There's not really any darkness on the record," the 'Goodbye For Now' hitmaker confirmed to MTV. "There's definitely some textures and colors but I think I was saying that when I saw going through a different phase, but I really let that light in."

She then went into a bit more about why the album's called 'Prism', which gave her the opportunity to use the word "prismatic" again.

"The reason why I called this record 'Prism' is because I actually finally let the light in and then I was able to create all these songs that were inspired by letting the light in and doing some self-reflection and just kind of working on myself," Perry mused.

"I felt very prismatic because of that I feel like now I get to show these songs off and share these songs with the listeners and it's almost like I get to beam the colors that I've experienced out from me."

Blimey.
