It looks like we might have lost another popstar to jazz. :(
Having a bit of a chat with The Telegraph, Jessie Ware noted: "My manÂageÂment would kill me for saying this, but at some point, if it all goes well, I would love to do an album of Gershwin and Cole Porter songs – because that’s the music that really made me want to be a singer."
Bloody hell.
"And I would love to be able to do a concert of jazz standards."
Mind you, hopefully she'll be busy for all that nonsense, espeÂcially after the Mercury Music Prize, not that she's allowing herself to get too excited about that.
"I don’t feel the Mercury nomÂinÂaÂtion is about stardom though. It’s just a real acknowÂledgÂment of celÂebÂratÂing the album," she explained. "But all this antiÂcipÂaÂtion… it’s about being realistic. It’s wonderful and everything but you don’t allow yourself to dream of ever winning such a presÂtiÂgiÂous award as a Mercury. You never know when it’s going to end. I am just trying to keep it real."
We all are Jessie. We all are.
