The Queen's best friend Gary Barlow will appear on a revamped version of The War Of The Worlds, it's been announced.

Barlow will play the character The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist and performs 'Forever Autumn' and 'The Eve of the War' on the album, which was originally released in 1978.

"I've been a huge fan of The War of The Worlds score since I was a kid, so to be asked to work with the legend that is Jeff Wayne was a real privilege," Barlow told the BBC.

Other 'artists' on the album include Joss Stone, Maverick Sabre, Ricky Wilson and, playing The Voice of Humanity, Alex Clare.

The album's out in November.
