Basically, Sia couldn't give 'Chandelier' to anyone else because it's so amazing

  • March 18, 2014
  • Brad O'Mance

sia-chandlierSia's said she knew 'Chandelier' was for her and her only as soon as she'd written it.

Having a chat to your friend and ours Ryan Seacrest (as quoted here in a news story whose headline directly contradicts our one), the 'The Girl You Lost to Cocaine' hitmaker had this to say about the song's creation:

"I usually think, 'Oh this would work for Rihanna', or 'this would be a good one for Bey or Katy'. But this time I was like, 'Uh oh I think I just wrote a full-blown pop song for myself by accident!'"

Amazing.

"My friend [and songwriter] Jesse Shatkin and I were jamming in the studio – I was playing piano and him on the marimba – and this gem popped out."

'Jamming'.
