Apparently Zayn Malik's solo material won't be released via Syco

  • July 17, 2015

Zayn-Malik

According to The Sun — who for various reasons are usually quite 'on the money' when it comes to One Direction-related things — Naughty Boy superfan Zayn Malik's solo material won't be released by Syco.

A well-placed source with a lot to say for him or herself says Zayn — who is now managed by Turn First Artists — will move to another label within the Sony 'umbrella'.

“Simon has set up a deal that suits Zayn and One Direction," mused the 'source'.

“Zayn will stay in the Sony family under a different label and it’s totally with Simon Cowell’s blessing. It was just felt to be a bit difficult to have 1D and Zayn on the same label — and everyone felt it was better for him to be somewhere different."

The 'source' was quick to point out that it's all part of a general shift in Team Zayn.

“Since leaving the band, Zayn has changed management and lawyers so it would kind of make sense for him to work with a new label team. But having said that, he still gets on great with Simon."

Of course!

Having said all this, a representative from Syco has told Digital Spy this morning that "Zayn is still with Syco", but they didn't mention what the situation might be in the future. To be fair, who really knows what the future holds? We all have hopes and even dreams but sometimes these things are best left to fate. We cannot really control our destinies, however much we might try. Obviously we can decide whether or not to buy eg an orange hat or something like that.
