OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxcyAQ_BIqk

There's a brilliant moment in this clip of Goldfrapp sort-of performing 'Rocket' on Italian TV.

It's that split second when Alison realises that what has just happened — she's missed her cue while picking up balloons (?!) — has gone beyond the point of no return, and beyond the point where she could possibly style it out. It is a bit like when you trip slightly as you walk down the street: in some instances you can incorporate it into a jaunty skip. In other instances, the stumble is so enormous and catastrophic that there is no doubt to any onlooker that you have definitely just tripped over like a twat, so you need to admit that it has happened, hold your hands up to falling over like a twat and just hope that in ten years from now the whole incident will be forgotten.

This said, our favourite part of the clip has to be the host saying "you have a problem with the balloons?" in the manner of a parent attempting to feed their child an unwanted piece of carrot.

Anyway: that's a nice frock Alison's wearing, don't you think?
