'Judas': first reactions

  • April 15, 2011
  • Popjustice

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' is about to get its first radio play (and is already available to buy on iTunes).

You already know what we think about it, but here's what people have been saying on the Popjustice forum after a listen or two.

(Brace yourself.)

"Oh My Gawd. I've only just  realised you can see her reflection taking
the picture on the iTunes single cover. Life = Over."

"So far I'm regretting paying 99p…"

"shit yes fuck damnit, this is amazing. OH MY GOD foaming at the mouth."

"The 'Juda-Juda-ah-ah' bits are annoying as fuck."

"I like it.  Much better than Born This Way for sure.  Although the chorus sounds really crap compared to the verses."

"
Wow it really is so much better than Born This Way thank God. And what a radio fail haha!"

"The Juda-ah-ah part is the best, her voice on the verses is growing on me. It is really her best since Bad Romance."

"INSTANT CLASSIC, YOUR FAVES COULD NEVER ETC."

"HOLYFUCKBALLS."

"It's like the unholy child of BR & BTW with an even dirtier bassline. I'm in love"

"The verses and middle 8 are good but the chorus lacks a punch and as a whole it sounds pretty muffled. I have no clue what she's singing in parts."

"Brilliant. I love the chorus and the "woah" bits especially."

"Well… It's a lot better than "Born This Way". Not sure it is as outstanding as I wanted it to be (the snippets had a special energy), though. But it will grow on me, I think, until it becomes a Pop classic maybe."

"Y'know you can really appreciate the texture on the single cover while listening to the song."

"Oh god this is crap isn't it."

"This just sounds so fucking excellent and dirty and epic. I am in LOVE with Judas."

"I love her voice on it. This has kick started the whole campaign excitment from 3 to 10."

"This will not leave my ears for the rest of the year."

"PROSTITUTE WENCH. FUCK YES."

"It's better than Bad Romance. The lyrics she leaked are different to the song though."

"I'm sorry but its shit. What the fu** is this? I mean seriously?! I hope you hardcore fans enjoy your momentary joy, this is BTW part 2 in terms of being a disappointment."

"THIS SONG IS INCREDIBLE"

"The first time I heard it I thought it was shit, but now I've heard it with headphones on and I'm sold."

"God, the breakdown is so fucking good. I understand what some people have said about the chorus being kinda weak but I love the beats… it's all about the breakdown for me."

"OH MY GOD. I THINK I HAD AN ORGASM."

"I really, really don't want to sound like a deluded-stan-who-loves-everyhting-gaga-does, but this is HOLY FUCKING SHIT AMAZING."

"I don't know how I feel about this and that breaks my heart a little."

"Can't wait to dance in a stereotypical homosexual fashion to this in a club."

So what can we learn?
Some people like it, some other people do not. A round of applause, please, for The Internet.
