Aggravated Robyn and assualt

  • January 16, 2008
  • Popjustice

Robyn has a single out this week and 'Be Mine' is currently floundering around the Number 13 mark. The album has vaulted itself to Number 18 and looks pretty settled in that spot. Neither of these chart positions are good enough.

Perhaps the fact that the single and album has been knocking around for over two years has put people off, although the people who have been listening to the album for the past two years and are most aware of its merits are those who will be most interested in the following video. Here is a video of the Ocelot MTHRFCKRS remix of Robyn's 'Be Mine'.

We think it is a little extreme of Robyn to line people up who do not like her music and then unexpectedly wallop them in slow motion, but how she deals with her issues is not our concern.

Robyn's people described it to us as 'cute'. If their idea of cute is people getting belted by an enormous boxing glove then we don't want to know what they would consider to be mindless yet artistically violent. However, we are all in agreement that the remix and also the video is amazing.

Isn't it funny how these things appear on the internet at the same time as a single is released. Spooky. Almost as spooky as her being on Never Mind The Buzzcocks this week alongisde (OMG ROFL LOL etc) Christopher Biggins…
