A Newsdump for 4 April 2012: From Madonna doing well in the USA to a new Kelly Rowlo song for today

  • April 4, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

Madonna’s 'MDNA' album has debuted at Number One in the US selling 359,000 copies, her best first week sales since 'Music'. (Billboard) She has now had eight Number One albums in the States, and is second only to 'Sam, You Made The Pants Too Long' songstress Barbra Streisand.

In other 'doing well in American' news, One Direction will be headlining a gig at Madison Square Garden on December 3, with tickets going on sale this Friday. (Celeb Buzz)

Lady Gaga has been listed in Time Magazine’s top 100 World Fashion Icons. (Take 40) No sign of Jessie J anywhere. :(

Garbage have released a fairly classy black and white video for their comeback single 'Blood For Poppies'. (YouTube) However if you’re a bit squeamish, it’s probably a good idea to look away around the 2.50 mark.

Louis Walsh is apparently upset at the recent comments Cheryl Cole has made about him, with a "pal" quoting him as saying "I thought we were friends. If I was in London right now I’d give her a piece of my mind". (The Sun)

For those of you who were slightly concerned about Gary Barlow being trapped on an island during a tropical storm yesterday, you’ll be relieved to hear that he’s arrived back safely today. (Twitter)

Rihanna went for a interesting two-piece blue bin bag 'look' at the Battleship premiere in Japan yesterday. (Ace Showbiz)

Speaking of bags, Avril Lavigne was a grocery bagger at Safeways in Canada yesterday, as part of a charity fundraising campaign. (Contactmusic) "I got a medal today!", she humbly noted after the event.

And finally, everyone’s favourite X Factor 'mentor' Kelly Rowland has released a 'slow jam' called 'Need A Reason' for the upcoming film Think Like A Man. (Idolator) It’s all fairly pleasant if you like that sort of thing.

THAT WAS some of THE NEWS.
