Scooter Braun thinks Justin Bieber's still got a lot of growing up to do

  • June 12, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun thinks people should calm down with the whole 'Justin Bieber's an adult now' business.

Talking as part of Billboard's lengthy Bieber cover story, Braun was asked about the 'Only Thing I Ever Get for Christmas' hitmaker's transition from teenager to adult.

"Adult artist? Just because he's legal now doesn't mean he's an adult," he said. "He still needs guidance; he's still finding his way. He's no longer a boy, but he's definitely not yet a man."

(Perhaps he could write a song about that difficult middle ground between the two? That would be good wouldn't it.)

Mind you, Braun is fully aware of the pressures his young charge faces. "No one in the history of the world has ever grown up with the pressure that he has," he exaggerated, "being a solo artist that young, that famous, in a world with technology that exposes us 24–7."

"He was literally going through puberty in front of the entire world, with everyone expecting something from him and a lot people waiting for him to screw up," he continued. "He's a fighter. I'm proud of him — how's he's stayed true to himself and taken control of the entire situation."
