Could Mutya turn everything around with the release of 'B‑Boy Baby'?

  • December 5, 2007
  • Popjustice

One can only hope. Mutya's potential as a solo 'artiste' makes the whole project almost completely going off the rails even more of a nuisance.

Here we have the new video by someone who really ought, by this point, to have been quite the little superstar. It is a nice to look at but ultimately rather will-this-do video for a last ditch attempt to drum up interest in the 'Real Girl' album: the almost universally disapproved-of 'B‑Boy Baby'.

Let's hope that having Amy Winehouse on the song helps, although Amy isn't in the video so there is no opportunity for The Media to zoom in on her nostrils or whatever it is they do when they're basically attempting to push one of the country's best performers to the brink of oblivion with a series of vindictive and intrusive stories which not only dwell on but also contribute to her fragile mental state etc etc etc.
