Crash & Bean

  • March 13, 2007
  • Popjustice

As you may know, Matt Willis has decided to cover The Primitives' 'Crash' for his new single.

It is a lot better than The Love Bites' version of the same track, because he has basically turned it into a Blink-182 song. It's quite a brave choice for a single, when you think about it, because all it would take is for there to be A Nasty Accident in the news between now and the single release and it would be off their airwaves before you can say Lawrence From Denim.

Although in Matt's case we suppose the difference between zero radio plays and zero radio plays is fairly negligible. :(

According to the press bits:

"The track is also taken from the new hilarious Mr Bean film 'Mr Bean's Holiday' starring Rowan Atkinson. The hapless Mr Bean will also feature in Matt's video."

We have just watched the trailer for this film online and to say it is a film made exclusively for idiots would be understating its complete worthlessness in much the same way that describing the Ray Quinn album as "not exactly boundary breaking" only really touches the tip of that album's pointlessness iceberg. Still, we suppose Mr Bean's Holiday will keep you amused if you enjoy laughing at the mentally ill. Which if you're an X‑Factor viewer probably means it's right up your street.

You can listen to a clip of Matt's version of 'Crash' at his MySpace page.

We still think he should do 'Crazy Horses'.

PS: Please take a moment to acknowledge the amazingness of this item's headline.
