Do you remember 'Stacie Orrico'?

She had a good song eight decades ago called 'There's Gotta Be More To Life'.

Like most of you we were hardly counting the days until Stacie staged a comeback — in fact, we'd completely forgotten she existed — but she is indeed back back back and her new single 'I'm Not Missing You' (listen here) is kind of nice.

We decided that it was up to Stacie to convince us just how kind-of-nice this comeback track was, so we asked her for five reasons she was still good, in the sense that she was good when 'There's Gotta Be More To Life' came out.

Here is what Stacie emailed over.

5 REASONS I AM STILL GOOD
By Stacie Orrico

1. "I am 3 years older and have more stories and life experience to pour into the music."

2.
"I have had enough time to develop my life and identity outside of the music industry, and as a result I can create from a much more free place mentally and emotionally."

3.
"I was created to express through music, so whether that happens in 2001 or 2010, hopefully it is good and will continue to impact people in a significant way."

4.
"I am most inspired by jazz, soul and old Gospel music which are classic forms of music. My goal is to consistently create records that transcend time, and if I do that well, then it won't ever matter how much time I take off in between albums."

5.
"My biggest passion is seeing growth, change, and restoration in the lives of people. I care about that more than I will ever care about singing, although I LOVE music. That passion for humanity will always fuel my desire to work hard and encourage people through music even if the industry gets exhausting, so I think I'll be around for a while."

Well viewers, it is certainly nice to know she's having a bit of a laugh with this pop lark, and is most certainly not taking any part of it too seriously at all.
