One Direction cancelled a 'gig' last night because Liam wasn't well

  • October 21, 2015
  • Brad O'Mance

1D NEW

'Diana' hitmakers One Direction cancelled a 'gig' in Belfast last night after Liam was deemed too sick to perform.

The cancellation announcement was made at 9pm, ie when most of the audience was already in the venue and preparing themselves for a nice singsong. As you can imagine, the news didn't go down too well.

Here's a tweet from Harry apologising for the inconvenience etc:

Deepest apologies to everyone at the show tonight in Belfast. Very disappointed, but unfortunately these things happen. We're very sorry. H

— Harry Styles. (@Harry_Styles) October 20, 2015

That's all very well but what do the show's promotors Aiken PR have to say?

This:

"The show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has taken ill, and whilst not serious, he is unable to perform tonight."

Sometimes you wonder how hard it would be for a band like this to just do the gig anyway. If it was a Beyoncé gig and Beyoncé couldn't perform that would be one thing, but there are still three remaining singers in One Direction. How about they just come on and go, "look, Liam's ill, but we're going to just do our best. We'll fill in for his bits and there might be a few mistakes and missed cues, but on the plus side it's a unique experience for you and we really just don't want you to leave feeling disappointed." How about that. No? Alright then.
