Apple Music will now pay artists streaming royalties during its initial 30 day trial period in part because of an 'open letter' (blog) Taylor Swift 'penned' yesterday.
"Apple will always make sure that artist are paid #iTunes #AppleMusic" tweeted your friend and ours Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue.
"#AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer’s free trial period," he continued.
He then rounded it off with this one:

Taylor's blog had argued that it was unfair for emerging artists to essentially go unpaid for three months.
"We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation," she mused.
