An advert for Calvin Harris' album has been banned for featuring the wrong version of 'Let's Go'

  • May 29, 2013
  • Brad O'Mance

Calvin newA TV advert for Calvin Harris' hit-free flop of an album '18 Months' has been banned after someone complained that it featured the wrong version of 'Let's Go'.

According to Marketing Week a complaint was made calling the advert "misleading" because it featured the additional melody and lyrics "Oh, it’s now or never" during the chorus, making it a different version to the one on the album.

Initially Columbia Records said they were the same version but have since backed down and along with broadcast clearance body Clearcast have decided to replace the advert with a new one. To be honest they should have just said "FUCK OFF" but there you go.

The Advertising Standards Authority also ruled that the ad was likely to mislead and have banned the original version.

Blimey.
