David Stewart – ‘Lay On The Bonnet’

We meant to do this for a Big Song a couple of weeks ago but you know how it is.

BASICALLY David Stewart (not Dave Stewart - that's someone else) is Example's guitarist, and you may say to yourself "hang on most of Example's best stuff doesn't have much in the way of guitar action" but that's not really the point because what David has done is launch his own pop career, and very promising it is too.

He's done an album thing which is mainly about having sex with a variety of women, one of whom is Yasmin. It also features Example and Ed Sheeran, but fortunately none of the songs are about having sex with those two.

David's sparse, nocturnal production is pretty impressive and the pick of the bunch on that album is probably this future-R&B ballad 'Lay On The Bonnet', which isn't really about sex at all and is just about reclining on the front of a car. We're not saying that reclining on cars doesn't sometimes lead to sex because often it does, we're just saying that in this specific instance it does not.
