Westlife's Mark and Kian have been speaking about the current state of music

  • November 22, 2011
  • Brad O'Mance

Westlife's Mark and Kian have been discussing their views on music.

Speaking to MUZU.TV, they gave some strong opinions on the state of modern music. "I think it's getting very very samey-samey and I think it needs a bit of change-up again," lamented Kian.

Without any irony, he goes on to explain the secret of Westlife's longevity. "We just stuck to what we did, you know, we didn't try and change it, we didn't try and become cool or sing great songs with a dancebeat underneath them". Quite.

It wasn't all doom and gloom, however. Mark expressed his excitement about the rise of Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey. So that's alright then.
