There is some potentially amazing news about an upcoming Shakira album

The next Shakira album could be inspired by "African trance".

Shakira has been in the studio with DJ Venus X, who told Fader he's "sending her a lot of hybrid-oriented stuff—Turkish reggaeton, a lot of kuduro that sounds like African trance". Blimey.

"Hopefully I’ll be able to introduce her to things that are working on the dance­floor," he continued, "so she can translate and re-interpret them for universal pop."

The mind boggles.
