Plan B's not sure the government really know what they're doing

  • November 8, 2012
  • Brad O'Mance

Self-appointed voice of a generation (and massive Gabriella Cilmi fan) Plan B isn't confident the UK government know how to tackle gang culture.

"I don't think the government are ever going to solve any of these problems," he mused to BBC Newsbeat. "I don't think they have the balls to actually go and find out what's going on."

"I don't think they represent that class of people".

B would much rather people were educated about the realities of it all through the medium of entertainment: "Through music and through film we can change people's perception of the problem and show them the reality of it."

"Drugs are cool for kids, violence is cool, these things are exciting. A lot of these kids don't believe in themselves enough," he went on. "They feel so detached from society they think what's the point going to school, getting a job."

"That's why so many end up getting involved in gangs".

Mind you lots of them don't end up in gangs at all so it's all a bit confusing.
