One Direction and Lady Gaga lead the NME Awards nominations, sort of

One Direction have 'garnered' two pres­ti­gi­ous nom­in­a­tions at the NME Awards, for Worst Band and Worst Album.

Joining the band in the least-loved LP category is Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way'.

NME have also nominated Gaga (and last year's recipient of Hero Of The Year) as 2011/2012's Villian Of The Year alongside other evildoers Justin Bieber and Nick Clegg.

Lady Gaga received her third nod for being good at Twitter in the hotly-contested Best Twitter prize.
