Nicole Scherzinger's going to be in Cats on the West End later this year

  • September 29, 2014
  • Brad O'Mance

nicolefacebig'ICYMI' last night, 'Supervillain' hitmaker Nicole Scherzinger's confirmed she will make her West End debut when she joins the cast of Cats for its return in December.

Scherzinger will play the role of Grizabella a character who, according to Wikipedia, is "the former Glamour Cat who has lost her sparkle and now only wants to be accepted. Grizabella left the tribe when she was younger to see the world for herself; she has experienced the harshness of the world and is a pariah in the cats' society."

:(

Here's what the former popstar had to say about it all when asked for a statement (as quoted here):

"To have the opportunity to work with Andrew, Trevor and Gillian is a dream come true. I grew up listening to Andrew’s extraordinary music and was lucky enough, a couple of years ago, to record Cats’ beautiful song 'Memory'."

"Andrew’s score is breathtaking and I am truly honoured to have been asked to take part in what I know will be a very special time in my career. I can’t wait to begin rehearsals."

So there we are.
