Nicki Minaj wants to do a bit of acting

  • June 10, 2011
  • Brad O'Mance

Nicki Minaj has announced that she would quite like to give acting a go once she has finished touring with Britney Spears this summer.

“I went to school to be an actress," she told Entertainment Weekly at the MTV Movie Awards. "I never expected to be a rapper. It just fell in my lap.”

"I would like to get an acting gig," she continued, "That is my long-term goal.”

When asked who she'd like to work with, Minaj said that her ideal co-star would be Will Smith. "He’s a very successful rapper turned actor and therefore a role model,” she said. “And [I'd like to work with] Tim Burton because I love his crazy imagination. He comes up with these characters that are just so fascinating and the costumes and just creates these whole worlds.”
