Kesha says telling talent show hopefuls 'no' is like having a shit

  • July 1, 2014
  • Brad O'Mance

Ke$haThe artist formerly known as Ke$ha, aka Kesha, has said she doesn't want to say no to people on new TV talent show thing Rising Star because it's like doing a poo on their dreams.

Having a chat with the Hollywood Reporter (as quoted here) backstage on the show that involves people singing in front of a wall of cameras before being voted through to the studio bit, the 'Sleazy Remix 2.0: Get Sleazier' hitmaker said the following words:

"It's difficult for me to say 'no'…Because I see young people with a dream, the same dream that I had six years ago. I don't want to shit all over their dreams!"

"I really see that people are really nervous. That is an incredibly nerve-racking thing to stand behind a wall with a camera in your face and millions of Americans watching and voting on you — that is a terrifying situation to be in, and it really makes or breaks the performer."

She also admitted she's had to curb her swearing somewhat: "I have a potty mouth — like, I like to say fuck a lot. On this show, I really can't or I get in big trouble!"

Rising Star opened in America with 5.2m viewers, which doesn't sound like a lot but who knows really.
