Gwen Stefani's got (almost) ten songs recorded for her next album

'Baby Don't Lie' hitmaker Gwen Stefani has said that she's still (STILL!) working on her ever so slightly delayed third album and that she's got "close to ten songs" finished.

What she means here is that she's basically managed to record an EP.

"I'm literally writing like I've never written, I think ever," she told Too Fab, conjuring up images perhaps of her standing on her head to write, or perhaps just using a green pen.

"Every time I go in the studio — which I don't have a lot of time in my life — so when I've gone in, every single time I have written a song," she continued. Asked how many songs she's got ready to go she said the thing about the ten songs and then quickly followed that up with, "which doesn't sound like a lot, but it's over a very short amount of time."

"So I am in a really good place for writing and I think that has a lot to do with being on the show [The Voice US, obviously] last season and also just, I don't know, just opening up and being on a journey to get to this point to be able to write again."

She then sort of carried on in the same vein, saying previously going to the studio was a bit of a chore but now it's all "I gotta get in the studio".

This is promising at least. That last song felt like not even she really liked it, let's be honest.
