Girls Aloud are almost definitely no more.

Girls-Aloud---Pressefotos-2003'Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me' hitmakers Girls Aloud have announced their split without actually using the words 'split' and 'up' but it's pretty obvious that's it, so apols.

This has all happened in the wake of the final date of their 'Ten' tour, which will be remembered by many generations to come for its truly inexplicable 'Call Me Maybe' cover.

It was sponsored by semi-luxurious jewellery brand Pandora, but that's not the point of this 'news' story here. The fact of the matter is that Girls Aloud are no more.

A Twitter statement posted by the band — and yes one needed a TwitLonger — reads:

Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade. It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together . Love you lots.

We love you lots too, Girls Aloud.
