Flo Rida turned down 'Party Rock Anthem'

  • April 24, 2012
  • Mikey

If you thought Flo Rida would record any old shit, think again: he turned down 'Party Rock Anthem'.

The track's producer, GoonRock, originally wrote it with the 'Candy Girl (Sugar Sugar)' hitmaker in mind, but when he refused to have any part in it for "some reason", Goon took it to LMFAO.

"The chorus was different and Flo Rida passed on it for some reason," he recalled to WENN (quoted here). "We all loved it and RedFoo had the idea to make it 'party rock is in the house tonight'."

"I was opposed to the lyric change at first," explains GoonRock. "But I thought it was great for the LMFAO brand".

'The LMFAO brand'.
