Damien Rice was not consulted over 'Cannonball'

  • December 13, 2011
  • Mikey

Damien Rice has politely distanced himself from the decision to select his song 'Cannonball' as this year's X Factor winner's single.

Following a lot of huffing and puffing from more 'credible' quarters, Rice was prompted to tweet: "Some people asking about Cannonball. Once a song is released, anyone can record/release a version without approval, upon certain condition."

The 'singer/songwriter' has yet to share his thoughts on the ridiculous key change crowbarred into the Little Mix version, which seems likely to be Number One this weekend.
