Beyoncé is still a fan of Lady Gaga and the 'Telephone' video

  • June 20, 2011
  • Brad O'Mance

In an interview with W magazine, Beyoncé has claimed to be Lady Gaga's biggest fan.

Talking about their collaboration on 'Telephone' and how it all came about, the 'Run The World (Girls)' hitmaker said, "Gaga is my girl! I'm her biggest fan. When I first saw her perform, I actually called her and said, 'You are great!' That was before her popularity hit, and we had natural connection. Later, she asked me to do her video, and I said, 'I trust you, Gaga. I'll do whatever you want me to do.'"

Despite protestations from Gaga about the end result — she previously said there were too many "fucking ideas in that video" — Beyoncé was happy to play along. "The video ended up being very much like Quentin Tarantino's movies. He gave us his blessing, even loaned us the car with Pussy Wagon written on the side from Kill Bill."

Unfortunately, Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles wasn't too impressed with the latter; "My mum said, 'Do you have to use that car?'" To which we imagine Gaga would have said, "it's my art and I need to be true to myself", etc, etc.
