Beyoncé has honoured Robin Gibb in an open letter

  • May 23, 2012
  • Mikey

Beyoncé has paid tribute on behalf of Destiny's Child to the late Robin Gibb, citing The Bee Gees as an influence on the group.

In the open letter on her Tumblr she sent her condolences to the Gibbs and posted the original recording of 'Emotion', a song DC covered for 2001's 'Survivor' album.

She wrote:

The Bee Gees were an early inspiration for me, Kelly and Michelle.

We loved their songwriting and beautiful harmonies. Recording their classic song, 'Emotion,' was a special time for Destiny's Child. Sadly we lost Robin Gibb this week. My heart goes out to his brother Barry and the rest of his family

Love,
B.
